Evelyn L. Colón, MBA, has over 20 years of leadership experience gained through roles as supervisor, manager, and ultimately, the Director of Operations for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. A results oriented management professional, her responsibilities included, call center management, HR policy and procedure implementation, and direct management of a staff of several hundred employees.  

 

Prior to retiring in 2007, she served as Executive Consultant II responsible for supporting senior leaders in implementing strategy and cost saving Six Sigma (Green Belt Certified in Six Sigma) and disaster recovery projects.  Ms. Colon earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

 

Ms. Colon served as the co-chair for the Women's Interactive Network. She served on the advisory committee for the Blue Foundation for A Healthy Florida and on the Board of Directors for the Arts Council of Jacksonville, Fl responsible for grant review and approval. She served as the Executive Secretary for the Caribbean Cultural Committee, a local not-for-profit organization for 13 years. She was responsible for developing, writing, and procuring grants. She owns Alice Consulting Services which supports emerging businesses such as medical practices, not-for-profits, and faith-based organizations.

 

Ms. Colon joins Smith Group Financial as the Director of Smith Group Strategies where she will bring her years of business planning, strategy development, grant writing/review, leadership, project management, and expertise to the team.
